Part 2 of the Ongoing Series: Creating Dialogue with a Chaotic Person
In this episode we continue on the journey of building our skills in creating dialogue, specifically with a chaotic person. Dialogue is a give a take where each person is willing and able to listen and speak. A one-sided conversation, where one person does all the talking is not conducive to open dialogue.
In Part 1 of this series (episode 009) I discussed the 1st thing I say to a chaotic person, which is “Thank you”.
What I didn’t say in Episode 9 is the step before I say ‘Thank you”. Listen now to the podcast (approx – 16 mins), as I discuss how to use the 3 steps below when beginning dialogue.
- “Excuse Me”
- “Thank you”
- Define the “Thank you”
Homework: What is a crisis validation? This type of validation will be covered in Part 3 of this ongoing series.
